It’s with great pleasure that Hull Trains can announce that they are sponsoring the long-awaited performance of E Nesbit's classic tale, The Railway Children, this Christmas. The partnership reunites two award-winning, nationally recognised Hull companies, who are welcoming back passengers and audiences to share and enjoy experiences together this Christmas. Hull Trains also sponsored Hull Truck Theatre’s Christmas production of Peter Pan in 2019.
After last year’s unfortunate cancellation of the production due to the pandemic, Hull Trains are excited to be part of what promises to be a thoroughly delightful show that all the family are sure to enjoy.
The production tells an uplifting and heart-warming tale about hope, family and friendship and will be running at the Hull Truck Theatre from the 26th of November through the Christmas season until the final show on the 2nd of January.
The partnership will be a significant boost to Hull Truck Theatre’s Give the Gift of Theatre scheme which enables families and young people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to come to the theatre to attend, often for the first time.
Andy Mellors, Managing Director Non-Franchised Businesses, FirstGroup Rail Division, said:
“As a long-time supporter of community initiatives, Hull Trains has been eager to get back involved with projects that unite the people of Hull. As this particular show features such an affectionate portrayal of railways, it seemed the perfect fit!”
Earlier this year Hull Trains sponsored the Dead Bod stage at the Inner City Sesh festival, and the production of The Railway Children is another great opportunity to show their ongoing support for the local community.
