Hull is an incredible place to be if you want to try something completely new. Whether that be a sport or an entirely novel experience.

With our regular trains running from London King's Cross to the UK City of Culture 2017, there's no excuse to stick to the same old activities.

Rock Climbing at Rock Up

Newly opened Rock Up is an indoor climbing centre situated in St Stephen's Shopping Centre, just across the road from the railway station.

The space includes 26 multicoloured climbing walls, bringing challenges to all abilities and ages. There's even a soft play area for under 8s who want to join in the fun.

Afterwards, relax in their cafe with a coffee or tasty smoothie, or go shopping in the centre.

FootGolf at One Stop Golf

This unusual twist on a traditional sport has its origins in the Netherlands back in 2009. Similar to golf, the game at One Stop Golf involves you potting a soccer ball into a hole with the least amount of kicks as possible.

It's a great chance for the whole family to practice their athletic skills and strategy, plus it's amazing fun.

Laser Station

Laser tag is a fantastic way to blow off some steam and Hull has an amazing place to do it.

Laser Station in St Stephen's offers a multi-level indoor laser tag area, where you can fully immerse yourself. Each game is 20 minutes long and the aim is to defeat the other team.

Afterwards, why not enjoy some mini bowling or arcade games? Perfect for all the family!

Solve Puzzles at Escape Rooms

Grab your mates and head to the brand new Escape Rooms. For 60 minutes, you'll be locked in a mysterious room and presented with a series of puzzling games as you attempt to get out.

Choose from themes such as Sherlock's 221B Baker Street or a creepy casino. Will you be able to keep your cool?

Pottery painting at Tea & Bisque-it

Fancy something a little more relaxing? Try designing and painting your own crockery at Tea & Bisque-it.

The studio is family-run and offers a wide range of ceramics for you to paint. Enjoy the therapeutic experience over a cup of tea and slice of cake.

If you do end up at any of these exciting venues, let us know by tagging us in your photos on Facebook and Twitter.
