Sick of doing the same thing for New Year's Eve? We've rustled up some excellent London-based events for you to try.

The best view on the Thames

See the spectacular London fireworks from a new perspective aboard a River Thames boat. Specially designed to give you panoramic views of the historic waterway, the Riverliner is the perfect spot for ooh-ing and aah-ing at the midnight display.

For more information, please visit the City Cruises website.

A retro celebration

As part of their Wintertime programme, the Southbank Centre is hosting A Vintage New Year's Eve Party.

The Royal Festival Hall will be transformed to house five exciting floors of entertainment. Whether you love good old-fashioned rock n' roll, 60s swing, 70s disco, soul or cabaret, you're in for a real treat.

On top of this, there will be delicious food, a hair and beauty salon, photo studios and live performances. You also get to view the famous NYE fireworks from a private terrace.

Further details can be found on the Southbank Centre website.

1920s Decadence at Sky Garden

Inspired by the parties of Jay Gatsby, this enchanting evening will be indulgent, vibrant and iconic.

Sky Garden welcomes in the New Year with a night full of sparkle, food, wine and dancing. Moreover, you can take in the glorious fireworks display from above as they shoot off into the sky. Don't forget your smoking jacket and flapper dress!

Additional information and how to book your spot can be found on the Sky Garden website.

Light up the new year

For something the whole family can enjoy, head over to Chiswick House and Gardens to wander through their Magical Lantern Festival.

Each year, Chiswick puts on this charming adventure that involves beautifully-lit paper sculptures of snowmen, gifts and penguins. Even Father Christmas will be making an appearance at the winter wonderland!

The display is perfect for adding an extra twinkle to your 'little ones' festive season. Full details can be found on the Magical Lantern Festivalwebsite.

Dive into 2018

The Natural History Museum welcomes their brand new blue whale in style through a massive New Year's Eve extravaganza.

Guests can dance to their feet's content underneath the stunning ocean giant. Meanwhile, you can see the popular museum under a different light whilst exploring the intriguing dinosaurs gallery and picturesque surroundings of the building.

Everything is under-the-sea themed, so expect marine cocktails and a chance to make your very own nautical headwear. Head to the Natural History Museum website for tickets.

If you do head to any of these fantastic NYE events, be sure to tag us in your snaps on Facebook and Twitter.
