Barnetby is a small village, in North Lincolnshire, with easy rail access to nearby towns such as Cleethorpes, Scunthorpe and Lincoln, utilising the four platforms of the station. Barnetby station, now completely modernised, opened in 1848 which was highly beneficial for the freight traffic being able to pass through Barnetby, between ports, power stations and distribution centres, particularly to Immingham and Grimsby. For this reason, this station is very popular with train-spotters and railway enthusiasts.
