Travel for less with a Super Off Peak ticket by avoiding our busier times of the day. Travel outside of peak travel times on Monday to Thursday and travel at any time on weekends and bank holidays – peak restrictions do not apply on weekends or bank holidays. We’ve lifted peak time restrictions on Fridays until further notice, so you can travel at any time throughout the whole day on Fridays.

What are Super Off Peak Train Tickets?

Super Off Peak tickets are similar to and cheaper than off peak train tickets, but they come with less flexibility on when you can travel. They offer better value but have with more restrictions on when you can use them to travel. Super Off Peak tickets are available as singles or returns. Super Off Peak return train tickets allow you to travel outwards on the date stated on your ticket, returning within one calendar month from this date.

Super Off Peak tickets are also available as Hull Trains Only and Any Permitted. These differ in validity depending on which train operator you are travelling with. Check the National Rail Enquiries website if you are unsure.

SUPER OFF PEAK TRAIN TICKETS INFORMATION
Super Off Peak means a train service that is outside of the busiest travel times of the day. Super Off Peak times can differ across train operators so be sure to check before you travel.
Any Permitted Services Super Off Peak tickets let you to travel on any train operators service outside of peak times. Peak services can differ from train operator to train operator. 
Peak service restrictions are in place Monday to Thursday. You can travel any time on Fridays (until further notice), Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. See below for which Hull Trains services a Super Off Peak ticket cannot be used on throughout Monday – Thursday:

Super Off Peak and Off Peak tickets differ in validity. Super Off Peak have more restrictions than Off Peak, meaning slightly less choice of services you can use Super Off Peak tickets on which is why these tickets are cheaper than Off Peak. Yes, Super Off Peak tickets are flexible as you do not have to travel on one specific train. As long as you travel on the date stated on your ticket and avoid peak time trains, you can use your Super Off Peak train tickets on any valid train.
You can buy a Super Off Peak ticket on the Hull Trains website and app, via our Telesales team on 0345 071 0222, or by visiting a station ticket office or ticket machine.
Tickets can be purchased in advance or right before travel. Super Off Peak tickets can be purchased from the Hull Trains website or app, Hull Trains Telesales on 0345 071 0222, a station ticket machine or a staffed station ticket office.
Super Off Peak tickets must only be used on services outside of peak times. You will be asked to purchase a valid ticket if you travel during peak times with an off peak ticket.

Open flexible tickets likes Super Off Peak tickets don’t automatically come with a seat reservation. From 6th September, seat reservations were reintroduced on board all Hull Trains services. Bookings made after this date can request a seat reservation when booking a Super Off Peak ticket. Yes, flexible tickets such as Super Off Peak tickets can be amended at your point of purchase. If you’ve purchased a Super Off Peak ticket with Hull Trains, you can change the date or time of travel fee free up to 6pm the day before travel, under our Book with Confidence policy. This policy is in place until 31st December 2021. Changes made after 6pm the day before travel will be subject to an admin fee, as per the regular terms and conditions.

Paper tickets (post or collection): Log into your Hull Trains Account on our website, go to My Bookings and select the booking you want to change. On the “I would like to” dropdown, select amend booking. We’ve removed the £10 admin fee but any difference in fare must be paid. To allow enough time to reissue your ticket(s), changes can be made up to 5 days before departure. If your original date of travel is in less than 5 days, you can take your ticket(s) to a staffed station ticket office up to 18:00 on the day before you travel to change them.

E-ticket and Print@Home tickets: Apply for a refund for your original ticket and repurchase new tickets. On our refund form, select “change of journey – new journey booked” as your reason for refund. No admin fee will be applied.
Yes, Railcard holders can save 1/3 off Super Off Peak fares. Don’t forget to bring your railcard with you on your journey so your discount can be validated.
Yes, your ticket is refundable. If you decide not to use your ticket to make all or part of your journey then you can request a refund by returning your unused ticket(s) to your place of purchase within 28 days of the ticket expiry date.
