Travel for less with a Super Off Peak ticket by avoiding our busier times of the day. Travel outside of peak travel times on Monday to Thursday and travel at any time on weekends and bank holidays – peak restrictions do not apply on weekends or bank holidays. We’ve lifted peak time restrictions on Fridays until further notice, so you can travel at any time throughout the whole day on Fridays.

What is Super Off Peak?

Super Off Peak rail tickets allow you to travel at quieter "off peak" times of the day. They offer cheaper fares for travel during typically less busy hours. They are cheaper than Off Peak tickets, but come with stricter restrictions on when and where you can travel. These conditions vary by route and train operator.

Super Off Peak tickets are available as singles or returns. Super Off Peak return train tickets allow you to travel outwards on the date stated on your ticket, returning within one calendar month from this date.

Super Off Peak tickets are also available for Hull Trains Only services or Any Permitted. These differ in validity depending on which train operator you are travelling with. Check the National Rail Enquiries website if you are unsure.

When are Super Off Peak Train Times?

Hull Trains Super Off Peak tickets are not valid on the below services throughout Monday – Thursday:
 
Hull Trains Only Super Off Peak tickets are not valid on the 06:07 Hull Trains service from Beverley / 06:27 Hull Trains service from Hull and the 07:53 Hull Trains service from Beverley / 08:24 Hull Trains service from Hull 
Hull Trains Only Super Off Peak tickets are not valid on the 15:48 and 18:48 Hull Trains services from London King’s Cross
 
Super Off Peak tickets are valid on all services on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and bank holidays as peak restrictions are not in place on these days.

You can use a railcard to get additional discounts on Super Off Peak trai tickets. Most railcards offer 1/3 off eligible fares which includes Super Off Peak tickets.

Don't forget to apply your railcard to your next booking to save money on your trip. Always carry your railcard when travelling as you'll need to present it alongside your train ticket.

What does Super Off Peak mean?

Super Off Peak means a train service that is outside of the busiest travel times of the day. Super Off Peak times can differ across train operators so be sure to check before you travel.

What is an Any Permitted Services Super Off Peak ticket?

Any Permitted Services Super Off Peak tickets let you to travel on any train operators service outside of peak times. Peak services can differ from train operator to train operator. 

What are Hull Trains Super Off Peak train times?

Peak service restrictions are in place Monday to Thursday. You can travel any time on Fridays (until further notice), Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays. See below for which Hull Trains services a Super Off Peak ticket cannot be used on throughout Monday – Thursday:
• Hull Trains Only Super Off Peak tickets are not valid on the 06:06/06:26 & 07:53/08:23 Hull Trains services from Beverley/Hull 
• Hull Trains Only Super Off Peak tickets are not valid on the 07:27, 15:48 & 18:48 Hull Trains services from London King’s Cross

What is the difference between Off Peak and Super Off Peak?

Super Off Peak and Off Peak tickets differ in validity. Super Off Peak have more restrictions than Off Peak, meaning slightly less choice of services you can use Super Off Peak tickets on which is why these tickets are cheaper than Off Peak. Are Super Off Peak tickets flexible?

Yes, Super Off Peak tickets are flexible as you do not have to travel on one specific train. As long as you travel on the date stated on your ticket and avoid peak time trains, you can use your Super Off Peak train tickets on any valid train.

Where can I buy a Super Off Peak train ticket?

You can buy a Super Off Peak ticket on the Hull Trains website and app, or by visiting a station ticket office or ticket machine.

When can I buy a Super Off Peak train ticket?

Tickets can be purchased in advance or right before travel. Super Off Peak tickets can be purchased from the Hull Trains website or app, a station ticket machine or a staffed station ticket office.

Can you use a Super Off Peak ticket anytime?

Super Off Peak tickets must only be used on services outside of peak times. You will be asked to purchase a valid ticket if you travel during peak times with an off peak ticket.

How do you check Super Off Peak train times?

Does a Super Off Peak ticket come with a seat reservation?

Open flexible tickets likes Super Off Peak tickets don’t automatically come with a seat reservation. Seat reservations are available on board all Hull Trains services and can be requested when booking a Super Off Peak ticket.

Can I amend my Super Off Peak ticket?

Yes, flexible tickets such as Super Off Peak tickets can be amended at your point of purchase. If you’ve purchased a Super Off Peak ticket with Hull Trains, you can change the date or time of travel fee-free before your original date/time of travel.

Can I get a discount on my Super Off Peak train ticket with a railcard?

Yes, Railcard holders can save 1/3 off Super Off Peak fares. Don’t forget to bring your railcard with you on your journey so your discount can be validated.

Can I get a refund on my Super Off Peak ticket?

Yes, your ticket is refundable. If you decide not to use your ticket to make all or part of your journey then you can request a refund by returning your unused ticket(s) to your place of purchase within 28 days of the ticket expiry date. What is the difference between an advance single and a super off peak ticket?

These two ticket types primarily differ in flexibility. Advance single tickets are more limited in availability as they are sold on a first come first served basis. They also offer no flexibility as they are valid only on the specific train booked which also makes them generally cheaper than other fares.

Super Off Peak tickets have more availability as they can be purchased anytime for travel during specific timeframes. They are more flexible than Advance fares as you can travel on any super off peak service. The cost of a Super Off Peak ticket is sometimes more than an Advance ticket but are cheaper than Anytime tickets.

Do Super Off Peak tickets change price?

No, Super Off-Peak train tickets generally do not change price based on when you buy them, unlike Advance tickets. They are a fixed price for a specific route and can be purchased in advance or on the day of travel. They are available for travelling at less busy times on weekdays, and all day at the weekend.
