What is an Advance train ticket?

Advance tickets are single, one-way tickets that can only be used on a specific service, chosen by you. The date, time and route of the service will be stated on the ticket. Advance tickets are cheaper as they are not flexible and you must travel on your chosen service, so if you miss your booked train you will have to purchase a new ticket.

Advance tickets are best booked in advance, prior to travel. You can purchase Advance tickets in both Standard and First class and you can mix and match your outward and return fares to suit your needs. They are available to book on our website and app. We recommend choosing e-ticket as your delivery method, saving you time and beating the station queues. Easily store your e-ticket in the free Hull Trains app.
