A comfortable and stylish hotel connected to the railway station

Fit for royalty

Back in 1854, Queen Victoria stayed in what is now the Mercure Hull Royal Hotel, which has recently received a £1.5 million facelift. A first-class establishment that offers the splendour of Victorian architecture with a dramatic, luxurious and modern twist in decor and style, all rooms include en-suite bath and shower, flat screen TV with Freeview channels, hairdryer, complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, and free Wi-Fi so that you can show your Instagram followers how posh you are.

Perfect for powwows

With nine suites to choose from, most of which can be arranged with theatre, U-shape, boardroom, classroom or banquet seating to accommodate anywhere from 10 to 450, you'll find that the Mercure Hull Royal is ideal for meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars and many other corporate and public functions. Dining and private bars are also available, and special offers are often up for grabs through their website.

Afternoon Tea

Presented with lined tableware and napkins, Afternoon Tea at the Mercure Hull Royal includes the classic sandwiches of salmon and cucumber mayonnaise, roast beef and horseradish cream, egg and cress, and asparagus and cream cheese. Followed by fruit scone with clotted cream and strawberry jam, fresh strawberry dipped in white Belgian chocolate, homemade chocolate truffle, lemon cake and shortbread, all washed down with a pot of tea, you'll find it as filling as it is fancy.

Burn off the calories

Guests of the Mercure Hull Royal can take advantage of the superb facilities at the brand new Gym 24 Seven located in the nearby Princes Quay Shopping Centre. Open 24 hours a day and only a five-minute walk away, you can purchase a single-entry pass for just £2 from the hotel's reception desk. As well as the usual weights and fitness equipment, your pass will also cover K-Fit, Kettlebells, Body Pump and Zumba classes. Or you could just use the treadmills at 4am if you really fancy it.

Getting hitched?

The Mercure Hull Royal regularly hosts wedding events to help you gain inspiration and make your big day truly special. The next Wedding Fayre is on Saturday 27 September from 11am-3pm, where you can meet over thirty exhibitors and watch two catwalk shows, completely free of charge. If you're looking to use the hotel itself for your wedding reception and evening event, we recommend attending a free Wedding Open Day. Here you'll be shown around by the hotel's onsite wedding coordinator and given full details on features, availability and prices. Upcoming dates are Saturday 1 August and Saturday 31 October from 11am-3pm, plus you receive complimentary drinks and canapés on arrival.
