We're gobsmacked when people say that there's nothing to do in Hull. We have beautiful parks, a bustling marina, amazing theatres and museums, countless live music events, an independent cinema project, a flourishing arts sector, dozens of cultural dining experiences, an abundance of small businesses and boutiques, and more annual festivals than there are months in the calendar. Still, sometimes it takes something really quite odd and unexpected to make people realise just how exciting a place can be, so here are ten times that proved, as the T-shirts have said for years, It's Never Dull In Hull.

1. That time areas of Hull City Centre were transformed into wartime London for the filming of A Royal Night Out

2. That time the sun came down to take part in The World of Colour Parade at the 2014 Freedom Festival.

3. That time a naked man bearing an uncanny resemblance to Jesus was spotted outside the Job Centre.

4. That time a bunch of Ladykillers escaped from Hull Truck Theatre to visit Thieving Harry's for a cuppa.

5. That time a giant Larkin toad was seen floating above Queen's Gardens.

6. That time a bird, a tiger, a stingray and four people in morphsuits visited Holy Trinity Church for Hull Fashion Week.

7. That time The Gold Man met Dora the Explorer.

8. That time one of the Live Nativity camels sampled some of Bob Carver's famous chips.

9. That time Hull University Union participated in a little sumo wrestling.

10. That time Hull Batman rode a space hopper across the Humber Bridge to raise money for charity. A true hero!

This is just a handful of weird and wonderful things that happened in our fantastic city. If you have others you'd like to share with us, please post them on our Facebook page.
