The historic Market Town of Howden has undergone something of a revival in recent years and is fast becoming one of the most desirable locations to live in the East Riding of Yorkshire. An influx of new shops and businesses and a buoyant property market, not to mention excellent motorway links, have all contributed to a town that is definitely on the up.
The impressive Minster, a monument to the work of Bishop Skirlaw in the late 14 th century.
Add to this the fine selection of specialist shops, tearooms and pubs in and around the Market Place, and the stunning examples of Georgian architecture to be found in the surrounding streets and it is little wonder that Howden has firmly established its place on the tourist trail.
Howden Station is situated approximately one mile from the town centre on the B1228.
Howden station is unstaffed and does not have a ticket office. Passengers should purchase their tickets on the train.
